The 7th biennial conference of ALPHA will take place in Istanbul, Turkey on 2-4 May, 2008.

Active components in IVF media - a promising prospect

The next promising leap in optimising IVF culture is the addition of naturally present embryonic growth factors to the media.

MediCult is pioneering this field with the growth factor GM-CSF (Granulocyte-Macrophage Colony-Stimulating Factor). This growth factor is naturally produced in the reproductive tract, and the embryo actively produces receptors for it. GM-CSF is looking be a very promising prospect in the future of IVF.
