SupraSperm® is for sperm separation by gradient method.
Background
Seminal plasma must be separated from the spermatozoa in order to facilitate capacitation. In sperm preparation procedures, selection of vital and motile spermatozoa is done to increase likelihood of fertilisation.
SupraSperm® is designed for use outside the incubator for a limited time period. The medium is a colloidal suspension of silane coated silica particles in MediCult's Sperm Preparation Medium (Cat.No. 1070).
For convenience SupraSperm® is available both as a ready-to-use gradient system (55% and 80%), a 90% and a 100% solution for individual preparation of gradients.
SupraSperm® is comparable to PureSperm ( NidaCon International AB) in relation to yield and quality of spermatozoa. (Ziebe,1999, Private Communication).
SupraSperm®100 and SupraSperm®System are CE marked.
